PRESERVE THE PLANTS WITH TUMPEK
BUBUH
Once
upon a time in the forest there are so many trees, but now we have cut down the
trees. Then when the rainy season, there
were not much trees to absorp the water. And, it will be some disaster such as
: flooding, landslides, and of course the global warming. So, what to do with
TumpekBubuh? Do you know when we celebrateit?
At
each SaniscaraKeliwonWariga, Hindus always deliver to the offerings presented to
SanghyangSangkara as the God of the plants. By Hindus TumpekBubuh as an
expression of love and affection for plants. In Hinduism there is a doctrine
called the Tri Hita Karana. There are some part of Tri Hita Karana such as the human relationship with God, the
relationship between human being and man's relationship with its environment.
In practice the relationship with the environment, Hindus people worshipThe Lord
Sangkara as the God of plants.
If
we observe from the education side of TumpekBubuh, that is a medium of learning
for Hindus to learn mutual respect and love each other. In this case the plant
has been widely praised as a boon to people sincerely provide the opportunity
for men to pluck the leaves, fruit, stem, flower etc. And we should remember
that the plants are able to feed and provide animals and human’s daily needs
like vegetables, fruits, timber, shelter and so on.
We’ve
realized, the plant will be very beneficial if the human maintain and preserve
itself. But if people only ask for and destroy the plants, he will turned into
a source of wickedness or the Hindus called bhutakala that will harm humans
with disasters such as floods, landslides, earthquakes,
hurricanes and others.
It happened because of human activity tothe plants that never care about our
environment, but humans only ask and destructive of nature environment as
cutting down forests without planting again, so the mountains became bare and
cause flooding.
From
the ancestor,we got a cultural heritage to preserve the environment as an
example of each the existing wood in Bali mostly filled a cloth with black and
white pattern or we ussually called it saputpoleng. It sacred by Hindus to be a
place of worship a spiritual energy in it.But if we observe from the science
side of the large trees that can serve the circulation of water in which sea
water is heated by the sun will evaporate, and then from the steam will turn
into a dew, dew-moist area will be rain, rain water retained by the roots of tree
then flowed slowly through the river to the sea as the source again.
So, through theTumpekBubuhwe will begin to learn about lovethe trees,
nurture the plants with forestation or reforestation. And it is guidance for the
human mind to preserve the environment by mutual respect, mutual love, mutual
care among all of God's creature.
